Today the WBC sent representatives to weigh both Jose Luis Castillo and Herman N'Goudjo at their respective camps. Castillo's numbers are of particular interest as he recently failed spectacularly in making the weight limit for two scheduled WBC lightweight title fights against Diego Corrales. Jose Herrera Ornelas weighed Castillo in Toluca, Mexico and his weight is 154 lbs. Jack Woodburn weighed N'Goudjo in Canada and his weight is 153.5 lbs. Castillo and N'Goudjo collide on January 20 in Las Vegas in a WBC super lightweight (140lb) eliminator. At the 30 day weigh-in, a fighter cannot weigh over 10% of his contract weight, so both fighters are right about at the limit. At the seven day weigh-in, a fighter must be within 5% of his or her contract weight. |

Tickets go on sale Friday, December 15th at 10AM for the big January 20 card at Paris Las Vegas featuring former jr. welterweight and welterweight world champion Ricky "Hitman" Hatton (41-0, 30 KOs) vs IBF jr. welterweight world champion Juan Urango (17-0-1, 13 KOs). Prices are $50, $100, $200, $300 and $500, available at the Paris Las Vegas box office, by calling 877-374-7469, or online at TicketMaster.com or parislasvegas.com. "People ask me what motivates me, and topping the bill in Vegas is one of the things that keeps me going," said Hatton. "I grew up in the era of Leonard, Hearns and Hagler, and seeing them fight in Vegas got me into boxing. The fact I am fighting in the same city, and topping the bill in a world title fight with my name up in lights on the Las Vegas strip is the stuff that dreams are made of. I am living the dream, and I don't want it to stop."

IBF Featherweight Champion Robert Guerrero and challenger Orlando Salido didn't live up to the high expectations of this fight being thriller.
But on this night, Guerrero, from Gilroy, CA, looked more like an unpolished prospect than a world champion ready to dominate his weight class. As it turned out, it was Salido, the journeyman with a modest record, who had his hands raised in triumph as he scored an upset over the once-beaten Guerrero and lifted his world title.
