Celebrating its 100th professional boxing card, Foxwoods Resort & Casino (39 Norwich Westerly Rd., Mashantucket, CT) will be hosting “Foxwoods FightCentennial” – headlined by the highly anticipated world lightweight title unification fight between World Boxing Organization champion ACELINO “POPO” FREITAS (38-1, 32 KOs), from Salvador, Brazil and undefeated World Boxing Association champion JUAN “EL TORITO” DIAZ (31-0, 15 KOs), from Houston, Texas, Saturday, April 28. Promoted by Art Pelullo/Banner Promotions and Don King/Don King Productions.
Freitas and Diaz will be seeing each other for the first time when they embark on a two-city media tour, along with their promoters Pelullo and King, respectively, hosting media luncheons in Boston on Tuesday, April 3 and New York, Wednesday, April 4. Time and locations will be announced next week.
